On-Screen Weddings We Want IRL

We’ve looked at the best real-life celebrity wedding gowns before, so now it’s time to tune out and dream of wedding dresses that we love from the silver screen.

Definitely (and absolutely!) all things dreamy, the dresses, ceremonies and Prince Charmings were all we needed to be swept off our feet! Here are five movie weddings we definitely fell hard for…

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1

With such rustic romance brewing in the granite cliffs of British Columbia, the setting was just right for this pair of lovebirds that all vampire teen fans were screaming for. Hanging onto her man (or vampire!), Bella Swan donned a Carolina Herrera dress that exceeded any of our expectations! Plus, who could ever forget the beautiful detailing on her back?

Cinderella

Don’t deny it; the inner princesses in every one of us squealed with envy at this one-of-a-kind gown made by costume designer Sandy Powell. Oh, what a dreamy fairytale we were living in when Cinderella (Lily James) walked out to the balcony with her dapper Prince Charming at the end of the film!

Mamma Mia!

Gorgeous island-life vibes were strong with this Ann Roth design, which the carefree Sophie (played by Amanda Seyfried) only carried off too perfectly in her tulle wedding dress. No matter that she didn’t actually get married in the end, but seeing her in the flower crown was worth the 109 minutes!

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones

Even if you’re not a sci-fi/fantasy fan, you can’t deny the breathtaking dress(designed by costume designer Trisha Biggar) Natalie Portman’s character Padmé Amidala wore when she married her young jedi! From the headpiece to the full-lace gown, this private sunset wedding had (girl) fans bursting with happiness. Sigh, if only things stayed that wonderful thereafter…

The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

Although this bride didn’t really make it to the altar either, we still fell in love with Princess Mia’s (played by Anne Hathaway) Gary Jones gown. Designed solely for the movie, Mia looked the part. Rumour has it that Kate Middleton’s wedding gown was inspired by this look, too!
